Tõde ja õigus 100. My Artwork Becomes Part of Estonian Literary History

Some things feel almost too extraordinary to be real. Having my artwork become part of the 100-year history of Tõde ja õigus is certainly one of them.

This year marks the centenary of the publication of the first volume of A. H. Tammsaare's iconic novel Tõde ja õigus(Truth and Justice), one of the most significant works in Estonian literature. To celebrate this remarkable anniversary, 100 artists were invited to create 100 original artworks, each becoming the cover of a unique, one-of-a-kind edition of the book. And I'm incredibly honoured to be one of them. 100 years. 100 artists. 100 artworks. 100 unique books.

What makes this project particularly meaningful to me is the meeting of literature and visual art: two different forms of expression coming together across generations. To know that my artwork will exist not only as an original piece but also as part of this special literary edition feels both surreal and deeply rewarding. The original artworks and their corresponding books will be presented at Vaal Gallery in Tallinn, culminating in a special art and book auction.
