Pear in Soft Violet is an original oil painting that transforms an ordinary pear into a meditation on colour and light. Soft violet surrounds luminous greens and warm ivory, allowing the familiar form to emerge with calm strength and subtle movement.
Part of my Studio Studies series, this painting began with observation but gradually found its own language through layers of paint and intuitive brushwork. Small in scale, it offers an intimate encounter. It is a painting about the beauty that exists in ordinary things when we truly take the time to see them.
