Esoteric Plum is an original oil painting that explores the hidden richness of an ordinary subject. Layers of warm gold, muted plum, soft ivory, and cool blue shift between representation and abstraction, allowing the familiar form to become something unexpected.
Part of my Studio Studies series, this painting began with direct observation before developing through instinct, colour, and gesture. Its intimate scale invites a slower way of looking, where texture, light, and subtle relationships emerge over time.
