There is something special about seeing paintings leave the studio and begin a dialogue with a space. These photographs capture moments from After Afterglow, my exhibition at Controvento, the Italian restaurant nestled in Tallinn's Old Town at Vene 12, Katariina Käik.
After Afterglow is an exhibition about what remains — what lingers after the brightest moment has passed. It explores the traces of memory, emotion, and presence that continue to shape us long after the initial experience fades.
My work moves between painting and language, guided by an ongoing search for emotional truth. These paintings embrace both intimacy and strength, allowing colour to become a form of expression rather than representation.
Installed within the warm, characterful setting of Controvento, the paintings enter into conversation with centuries-old stone walls, natural light, and the everyday rituals of gathering around a table.
